Drum Units and Parts
Ensure consistent print quality and extend your printer’s lifespan with our drum units and parts.
Selecting the appropriate drum unit depends on your printing needs and budget. While OEM units guarantee quality, compatible and remanufactured options provide significant savings without compromising performance.
What Does a Drum Unit Do?
In laser printers, the drum unit is essential for transferring toner onto paper. It uses electrostatic charges to attract toner particles and create the desired image or text. The paper then passes through heated rollers, which fuse the toner to the paper, resulting in a permanent print.
How Is It Different from a Toner Cartridge?
While the toner cartridge supplies the toner powder, the drum unit is responsible for transferring that toner onto the paper. Some printers and copiers combine these components into a single unit, while others keep them separate. Printers with separate drum units often have lower long-term operating costs.
OEM vs. Compatible Drum Units
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) drum units are made by the printer's manufacturer and are typically more expensive. Compatible drum units are produced by third-party manufacturers and offer a more affordable alternative. Both types can provide similar performance, but it's important to ensure compatibility with your specific printer model.
